Lesley is currently the Executive Director of the Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund. AOSF will award scholarships to eligible, low-income students to pay for private school tuition or transfer fees to a non-failing public school. Funding for the scholarship comes primarily from companies with Alabama corporate tax liability. She has spent nine years working in the area of education reform with a goal of improving educational opportunities for low-income children. Her experience includes raising millions of dollars for scholarships as well as overseeing a school designed to serve this population.
Previously, Lesley served for the The Foundry Rescue Ministries helping them secure funds and develop new business enterprise opportunities to help more than 3,500 men, women, and children annually. Additionally, she led the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama through the first year of a merger of four councils representing 36 counties and 18,000 girls
She received her B.A. in Communications from the University of Alabama and Master of Arts in Public and Private Management from Birmingham Southern College.
